Senior Network Administrator

Position Summary:

Responsible to configure, install, and maintain LAN and WAN environment with particular emphasis on the Network infrastructure and security as well as to assist other Orchard Brand’s companies with their infrastructure.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the Architectural design, development and implementation of LANs and WANs
• Evaluating and proposing new technologies to enhance network performance
• Maintaining and developing thorough network documentation using Visio, Word and Excel
• Optimize Network performance via tuning and monitoring
• Evaluate existing network operations, identify deficiencies and make network performance recommendations
• Configure, deploy and install network communications hardware
• Perform after-hours maintenance as required
• Be on-call for production support 24/7
• Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on business needs

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• 4 year computer sciences degree or equivalent experience required
• 5+ years experience in an enterprise network with experience with Cisco routing and switching platforms
• Cisco CCNA and/or CCDA certification required
• Experience in large diverse Enterprise environments including Call Centers, Distribution Centers, and Data Centers - in geographically diverse locations
• Experience with routing protocols such as EIGPR, BGP, and OSPF
• Experience with QoS techniques, bandwidth monitoring and management
• Experience with circuit activations, provisioning methods, capacity planning, frame-relay, MPLS and IPSEC VPN
• Experience with network tools such as Orion NetPerfMon, MRTG, and common network analyzers
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical publications and manuals.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of business people at all levels, vendors and business partners
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
• Strong written and oral communication skills required

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience with VoIP design and implementation
• Experience with Sonicwall UTM appliances
• Experience with ASA Firewalls and or Checkpoint Firewalls
• Cisco distributed and centralized wireless solutions
