IT Quality Assurance Test Lead

Position Summary:

Supports the overall test strategy for the Orchard Brands’ IT organization and helps to ensure that QA practices are consistently applied throughout the IT organization. This is achieved through providing leadership to non-QA personnel who will be acting as system testers for both major projects as well as smaller ones. This role will be one of active testing participation as well as coordination of testing resources, development of test cases & expected results and overall testing strategy.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

Coordinate strategic project test environments, including configuration and test data setup
Consult with Business Application team (BAT) on testing (production fixes, small enhancements, small projects)
Consult with PMO program managers on integration, system and user acceptance testing
Acts as Test lead for integration testing services to Business Application and PMO projects (when outside resources are not used)
Coordinates efforts of BAT testers and BAT resources performing testing
Approves test cases and test results
Responsible for testing resource estimation
Manage testing portion of large projects under PMO oversight
Audit and enforce key testing related SDLC project milestones, documents and standards
Collaborate with outsourced testing services vendors as needed
Contribute to overall test architecture across all platforms including load, performance, system and user acceptance testing
Support project and initiative post mortem reviews with recommended improvements
Interact daily with business, technical and program and project management teams
Exhibit professional conduct in all business relationships, actions and communications

Essential Skills & Experience:

Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of five years software testing experience
Accuracy and attention to detail
Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect
Experience in working with distributed team members
Some experience with AS400 and PKMS a plus
SQL experience for data extraction
Retail experience a plus
Frequent collaboration with IT program and project managers across the enterprise to ensure process consistency
Indirect reporting relationships and frequent collaboration with Business Programs Management to deliver projects within scope, on time and budget with transparency and optimized ROI
