Founder Connie Hallquist began Gold Violin in 1999 after a frustrating search to buy her grandmother Rose a gift that would be both memorable and useful. She eventually crafted a present herself — a colorful, hand-painted wooden walking stick that Rose treasured.
This experience led Ms. Hallquist to open a company offering unique items for those influential, insightful and often heroic people — like her grandmother — who "live long, rich lives and inspire us with their experience and insights." Like that original handmade gift, all Gold Violin products are thoughtfully designed to help such people continue leading active, independent lives.
